This guide is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the Men’s Standard heels that we offer, their features and benefits, and how they compare with each other.

Men's Standard Heels have been traditionally classified as 1" inch in height, in order to differentiate them from the higher Men's Latin Heel. However, this measurement has always been subject to interpretation, and as a result, when components such as the sole are taken into account, the heels do not always measure precisely 1"

Many of our Standard models have been designed to include a particular heel, however some models are available to purchase with different heel option to choose from

Traditional Standard Heel

The Traditional Standard heel is the classic Standard heel design, covered with patent/leather to blend seamlessly with the upper portion of the shoe.

It features a thin layer of gel foam cushioning, to provide some shock absorption, which is hidden beneath the flat, suede heel tip.

Traditional Impact Heel

The Traditional Impact heel is a variation of the Traditional heel and is sprayed, rather than covered, to give a patent effect finish.

It is molded as a single piece with an integrated layer of Ethel Vinyl Acetate (EVA) cushioning, between the plastic heel and the suede heel tip. EVA consists of thousands of tiny bubbles which provide increased comfort and shock absorption when compressed.

Pro-Glide Impact Heel

The Pro-Glide Impact heel is an enhanced version of the Traditional Standard heel. It is also covered with patent/leather to blend with rest of the shoe but, rather than gel foam, includes a thicker, hidden layer of Memory Latex Cushioning, for maximum comfort and shock absorption.

In addition, the suede heel tip curves and extends slightly up the back of the heel to prevent peeling during wear, and to provide additional grip when performing heel leads.

In developing this heel and incorporating the additional features, the height of the heel was increased, and is slightly higher than he traditional 1"

1" Pro-Glide Impact Heel

The 1" Pro-Glide Impact heel is an enhanced version of the Traditional Standard heel. It is also covered with patent/leather to blend with rest of the shoe but, rather than gel foam, includes a thicker, hidden layer of Memory Latex Cushioning, for maximum comfort and shock absorption.

The main body of the heel is thinner than the Pro-Glide Impact heel, taking the overall height back down to the traditional 1".

In addition, the suede heel tip curves and extends slightly up the back of the heel to prevent peeling during wear, and to provide additional grip when performing heel leads.

The full/split structure of a sole can have a significant impact on the feel of the shoe, but whilst one offers greater flexibility and the other greater support, neither is necessarily better. The choice can therefore be made based on personal preference, and/or suitability for the individual dancer

Full sole

A full sole covers the full length of the bottom of the shoe, providing a greater sense of structure and support

Split sole

A Split sole only covers the areas which make contact with the floor; the bottom of the heel, and the area underneath the front of the foot.

This reduces rigidity in the middle portion of the shoe, greatly increasing its flexibility.

The insole shape is one of the fundamental design elements that determines the look and fit of the shoe. Subtle alterations to this shape can make a shoe appear longer or shorter, and can make it feel tighter or looser.

This guide includes outlines the 4 different insole shapes we have developed, and provides some information on how they affect the models they are used to produce.

The Round insole is our most 'traditional' insole shape, which is historically typical of a man's Standard dance shoe.

The Semi-Round insole is a variation of the Round insole, which has been altered to give the shoe a sleeker, elongated appearance.

Relevant products: 365 Benedetto, 325 Storm

The Style insole is narrower under the arch of the foot, which allows the upper material of the shoe to wrap under the foot for a more snug fit.

Relevant products: 355/355N Alex, 333 Rhine, 350 Nile

The Almond insole has been developed specifically for the 375 Lukasz model. Whilst it has a slightly wider base area than our other insole shapes, the upper toe area of the shoe has a reduced volume to produce a more elegant side profile.

The Lining that we use has been specially developed and designed to absorb persperation. When the shoe is removed from the foot the persperation is released into the air.

Our socking is made from a high quality microfiber, which is coated with an anti-microbial layer, to provide maximum comfort for your feet, whilst helping to keep them fresh from the first dance to the last.

We also use charcoal impregnated latex orthotics, with integral arch supports This reduces the amount of stress on the foot and gives total support to the foot. The orthotics in our men’s Standard shoes are removable and washable to keep your shoes feeling new for longer.

The backs of our shoes benefit from the use of sports grade support material. This means that no matter how hot your feet become, the backs will retain their shape and continue to support your ankle.
